OVERHAULING A STEERING UNIT, Dismantling, 1. Hold the steering unit in a vice using a vice adaptor (A) 1999-T. Remove the clip from the left-hand dust cover: push the dust cover back so that the vice support can be fixed onto the steering unit. Remove the piping (4) for the rack control. Remove the seal plates. Disconnect the track-rods (3) from the central yoke.
