30 b) Operation of the height corrector - Movement of the slide-valve from the « cut-off » position to the « exhaust » position When the slide-valve is moved, that is when it alters its position from « cut-off », the disc valve in chamber C is held on its seating by its return spring, thus closing the clear passage. The disc valve in chamber D is lifted off its seating by the shoulder on the slide-valve, thus opening the clear passage.
