REPLACING A THERMOSTAT. Removal, 17. Drain the radiator, (save the water which contains anti-freeze), 18. Loosen the clip (1) and free the flexible hose (3) from the water pump cover. 19. Remove the clip (2) securing the thermostat. Remove the thermostat. Assembly. 20. Place the thermostat (4) in the flexible hose (3). Insert the thermostat in the hose until the flanged edge (a) of the thermostat body is in contact with the shoulder in the hose.
