Supplement No. 1 to Manual 818-1 (CORR) PRECAUTIONS WHEN CARRYING OUT WORK ON THE CAR It is absolutely essential to avoid action which may destroy certain of the electrical units or create a short-circuit (with consequent risk of fire ). 1. Battery : a) Disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive one. b) Ensure the battery is properly connected, with the negative terminal being connected to earth.
