The alternator output must be measured when the alternator is working at maximum speed. 1. Disconnect the negative battery lead. 2. Disconnect the excitation lead (yellow end) from the «EXC» terminal (1) and the charge lead (black end) from «+» terminal (2) of the alternator (insulate the two earth leads)
