Idling adjustments must only be carried out on an engine having the valve rockers and ignition correctly adjusted, and a clean air filter. 1. Ensure that the primary and secondary choke butterflies close properly. 2. Loosen the pressure regulator screw. 3. Warm up the engine to bring the oil temperature from 70° to 80° C (158° to 176° F). Keep this temperature during the whole of the idling adjustment operations.
